Nurturing Him

Husband's need pampering too.. Amen?... In my husbands case, a gift of nurturing him would be most appreciated.
  • Foot Soak {You can personalize one of the recipes by adding his favorite scent. Flower petals are a great added touch -- the velvety softness is delectable.}
  • Manicure {Cut his cuticles. Trim his nails. And gently stroke his fingertips where there are so many nerve endings. That is a treat indeed.}
  • Body Massage {I love sweet almond oil for massage. You can add whichever essential oils you like, his favorite scent would be ideal. Remember to knead his skin with just the right amount of pressure. It's nice to have the gentle touch of a woman, but we want to release the tension in their bodies too.}
  • Facial {I like this recipe with the brown sugar for an occasion such as Valentine's.}
  • Read to him {Whichever literature he prefers. And put on your best, silkiest voice.}
  • Make his favorite meals. {You've heard the saying.. the way to his heart is through his belly.}
  • Affirm him {Can we speak and show our love enough? Well maybe for some it can get overwhelming, but you know him. Let him know as needed. He's special, and not only do you love him ~ you desire him.}
And... While I was reading to my girls the facts and legends of St. Valentine, I was reminded what Love is all about... It's sacrificial. It gives. It serves. It endures... St. Valentine was martyred for His love for Christ, and dying to my selfish flesh so that I can better love and appreciate my husband is just what I'm convicted toward.  Faith is good for nudging me toward growth and change so that I may better honor him. I make the decision, Christ does the work in this willing vessel. He is a faithful God.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self~seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always preserves. ~ 1 Corinthians 13:4-7
