A Little Girl's Homemaking Journal

Thanks to Jamie at The Unlikely Homeschool for putting together the Ultimate Guide to Titus 2 Mothering I came across this wonderful idea for a "Little Girl's Homemaking Journal" by the "the Average Wife".

Oh, how I loved the idea! I'm always talking to my girls about the importance of caring for our belongings, our home, and each other.

Here is our version...

I just bought a three ring binder with an insert cover so that I could slip in a cover page with her name:
In the first inside pocket I placed her book Little Keepers at Home:
I decorated each divider with a picture that I cut out from a calendar that I had. I haven't labeled the tabs because I haven't fully decided on which topics I'm going to include, but I'm thinking Recipes, Gratitude {I'll print out each month's Joy Dare for her guidance,} Prayer, Contacts sheet {complete with people's birthdays and anniversaries,} and Book Lists.
In the back there is a folder for her manuals such as this one for her Pottery Wheel:
The other envelopes hold cards for her to send out, complete with stamps and faux sticker stamps with her initials:
The last envelope holds her Scripture Cards that she receives in Church:
And that's her first little Homemaking Journal! My hope is that this practice will instill in her a love for homemaking and a thoughtfulness for others. I'll be making Sophia {my four year old} one also because is it really ever too early to begin this positive cycle? Come to think of it, I'm still learning and striving to make a habit of all of these things...

Blessings,
